Chicken stew is a combination of chicken and colourful vegetables that have been cooked in liquid with some seasonings and served with bread as breakfast.It’s a very popular dish But you can find slight difference in cooking of chicken stew in different provinces of India. Today I am preparing an easy chicken stew with minimal seasonings in home style which is tasty as wll as healthy. Please follow the step by step chicken stew recipe and try to make it at home.I hope you will like and enjoy.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken pieces with bone : 600 gm
2. Butter : 20 gm
3. Cinnamon : 3 small pieces
4. Cloves : 5 to 6 nos
5. Black pepper : 10 to 12 pieces
6. Cardamom : 4 nos
7. Bay leaf
8. Medium size chopped onion : 1 nos
9. Julienne ginger : 1 tbsp
10. medium size potato : 3 nos
11. Papaya : 8-10 pieces
12. Carrot : 1 nos,
13. Chopped bean : Few
14. Salt : According to taste
15. Sugar (optional)
16. Black pepper powder : half tsp
17. 1 tbsp all purpose flour
18. 1 Cup Milk

Steps:
1. Take a large pan ,turn on the flame and add 20 gm or 2 tbsp of low fat Butter. Let’s melt the Butter.
2. Now add 2-3 bay leaf and some whole spices cinnamon ,cardamom, clove and whole black peppers.saute for 15-20 secs.
3. Add chopped onion and fry for 1 min.
4. Add Julienne cut ginger and again fry for 1-2 mins.
5. Now add chicken pieces and fry for another 6-8 mins. Add salt and pepper powder according to taste.
6.Brown the chicken to infuse the stew with extra flavor. Browning the chicken is optional but it adds a lot of flavor so I highly recommend it.
7. Time to add vegetables. First add potatoes and fry for 2-3 mins.
8. Add rest of the vegetables.(Raw Papaya,Carrot,beans). Cut vegetables into large pieces so that they don’t get overly soft as the stew simmers. Add little sugar (optional)
9. Add enough water and mix the vegetables in it.
10.Cover the lid and cook for 20 mins in medium flame.
11. After 20 mins open the lid and check wheather the chicken and vegetables are become boiled.
12.Take 1 tbsp all purpose flour in a bowl and mix it well with 1 cup of milk. Add it in the stew and boil the stew for another 2 mins.
13.Turn off the flame. Healthy And Tasty Chicken stew is ready to serve.
