This Christmas season celebrate with your family and friends by making this special dessert recipe The “Christmas Cookies”. A little Red velvet for chocolate lovers and a special Linzer for jam lovers. This holiday season there is something for everyone!!

Linzer Cookies Ingredients
Maida – 180gm (1 1/2 cup)
Powdered Badam – 60gm (1/2 cup)
Powdered sugar – 50gm (1/2 cup)
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Pinch of salt
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Unsalted butter – 113gm (1/2 cup)
Whole egg – 1
Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp
For topping ingredients powdered sugar and fruit jam
1. Cream butter and sugar together then add the egg and whisk to smooth batter.
2. In a separate bowl sieve all the dry ingredients like maida, badam powder, baking powder, salt and cardamom powder.
3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet batter. Gently whisk and thereby mix with hand to combine.
DO NOT KNEAD to DOUGH.
4. Keep the cookie dough well covered in fridge for 2 hours
5. After 2 hours, preheat oven to 180C. Meantime roll dough to thin sheet and cut into different shapes using cookie cutters.
6. Make 2 different shapes as seen in the video.
7. Bake for 190 C for 9 to 11 mins.
8. After the time remove from oven and keep on the tray for 5 minutes. Then transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
9. To finish off, dust the cut cookie with powdered sugar. To the whole cookie add a small scoop of jam.
10. Sandwich both cookies to make the linzer cookie. Enjoy

Red Velvet Cookie Ingredients
Maida – 120gm (1 cup)
Powdered sugar – 80gm (3/4 cup)
Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Pinch of salt
Unsalted butter – 50gm (1/4 cup)
Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp
Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp
Whole egg – 1
Natural food colour – few drops
For Topping powdered sugar is optional

1. Cream butter and sugar together then add the egg and whisk to smooth batter. 2. Add the vanilla essence to batter.
3. In a separate bowl sieve all the dry ingredients like maida, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet batter. Whisk to smooth batter.
5. Keep the cookie dough well covered in fridge for 2 hours
6. After 2 hours, preheat oven to 180C. Meantime scoop dough on baking tray ensuring enough space between scoops.
7. Bake for 180 C for 10 to 12 mins.
8. After the time remove from oven and keep on the tray for 5 minutes. Then transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
9. To finish off, dust the cut cookie with powdered sugar. Enjoy!!
