Chicken Thokku


CHICKEN THOKKU

INGREDIENTS:

Chicken – 200 gms
Cumin seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Cardamom – 1 nos
Cinnamon – 1” stick
Clove – 1 nos
Onion – 1
Tomato – 3
Green chilli – 2
curry leaves – 1 spring
Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 2 teaspoon
Garam masala – 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Jeera powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Water – 1/2 cup
Sesame oil – 6 tablespoon
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (chopped)

METHOD:

1) In a pan add oil, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, jeera and let it splutter.
2) Add green chillies, curry leaves, onion and saute till the onions turn translucent. Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes off.
3) Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, jeera powder, turmeric powder, salt, water and cook it covered for 3 minutes.
4) Add chicken and cook it covered for 10-15 minutes in a low flame. Stir in between.
5) Once the gravy is thick and the oil starts to float up, garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Our yummy chicken thokku is ready to serve.
6) SERVE HOT WITH WHITE RICE;)

NOTE:
* You can use less oil.
* Alter the quantity of red chilli powder according your taste.
* You can also add some lemon juice in the last step.
