Tawa Fried Chicken | Tawa Chicken Fry | Tawa Murgh Masala
Ingredients:
– Chicken with bones, cut into small pieces – 500 grams
– Tomato, finely chopped- 1 big
– Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
– Coriander leaves, chopped- one bunch
– Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
– Red Chilli powder- 2 tsp
– Coriander powder- 2 tsp
– Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
– Garam Masala powder- 1 tsp
– Mace & Nutmeg Powder ( Javitri & Jaiphal) – 1/2 tsp
– Oil- 2-3 tbsp
For marination:
– Juice of half lemon
– Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
– Salt- 1 tsp or to taste
Preparation :
– Marinate the chicken with salt, ginger garlic paste & juice of half a lemon. Mix & set aside for 30 mins.
– Fine chop the tomato & coriander leaves.
Process:
– Heat 3 tbsp oil on a “TAWA”.
– Add the marinated chicken & fry it on high heat for around 3-4 mins till chicken changes colour & water nearly dries up.
– Add the turmeric powder & mix it well. Fry for around 2-3mins.
– Add a splash of water & add all the powders – Red Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Cumin powder, Garam Masala powder & Mace-Nutmeg powder.
– Mix well & continue to fry for around 5 mins till the chicken is well coated with the Masala. This is to be done on medium heat adding a splash of water whenever the heat becomes too much or to help the chicken to cook.
– Put the chopped tomatoes & mix it well. Allow it to cook for around 5 mins till it is soft & is mixed well with the chicken.
– Add the curry leaves.
– Mix it well & again add a splash of water. Cover & cook for 10 minutes till the chicken is cooked. Now remove the lid & add the chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well & fry for 2-3 mins till done .
