Orange Chicken Recipe :
Chicken (thigh boneless)(diced) – 750 gms
Salt – ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder – ¼ tsp
Egg – 1 no
Maida – ½ Cup
Corn Starch – ¼ Cup
Oil – For Deep Frying
Sauce:
Orange (juice) – 2 nos
Ginger (grated) – 1 tsp
Garlic (grated) – 4 nos
Soya Sauce – 1 tbsp
Vinegar – 2 tsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Corn Starch – 1 tbsp
Water – 3 tbsp
Spring Onion – For Garnish
Sesame Seeds – For Garnish
Cooking Instructions:
1.Cut chicken thighs into cubes. Add salt, pepper, egg, cornstarch and flour, mix well to coat evenly.
2.Fry in batches until golden brown.
3.Double fry the chicken for 2 minutes in hot oil.
4.Juice two oranges and set them aside.
5.Prepare the sauce mixture by adding the orange juice, grate in the ginger and garlic, add the soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar.
6.Bring the sauce to a boil in a wok and add the cornstarch slurry and stir continuously.
7.Cook until the sauce has thickened, then add in the crispy chicken.
8.Garnish with spring onions, orange slices, sesame seeds.
Cooking Tips:
1.Chicken thighs are used to ensure a really juicy result, you can also use any other boneless cut of chicken.
2.Double frying the chicken is optional but results in very crispy chicken.
