Salisbury Steak With Hamburger Patties Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
3 – 4 oz feta or ranchero cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
4 tablespoons avocado or olive oil, separated
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons tomato paste
Easy Salisbury Steak With Hamburger Patties Recipe Directions
Place the hamburger meat in a large mixing bowl. Add the salty, crumbly cheese you’re using, feta is great for this, today i’m using ranchero, both taste amazing in this recipe. Break any large pieces into smaller crumbles. I’ve keep a few pieces to the side, and will be tucking those into the center of some of the patties.
Chop about 2 tablespoons of cilantro and add it to the bowl, you could also use parsley here, this will add color and flavor to the salisbury steaks. Add 2 teaspoons of avocado or olive oil,
½ teaspoon of kosher salt, and ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper.
Mix this all together, so the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Then form the ground beef mixture into hamburger patties.
I like to tuck a piece of cheese into the center of a patty, for a salty flavor bomb.
To cook the salisbury steak, heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add about 2 tablespoons of avocado or olive oil and two tablespoons of butter. Stir to melt the butter, then add the salisbury steak hamburger patties.
Continue to cook on medium high heat for about 5 minutes, then flip the hamburger patties. Frying the salisbury steak in the butter/oil mixture helps give the patties this nice crust, while they’re still juicy on the inside. After about 7 – 10 minutes, the salisbury steaks will be cooked through.
This is part is optional, I like to drain off some of the oil before making the sauce, or you can leave it and stir it into the sauce. Add a cup of cream and 2 tablespoons of tomato paste. Stir the mixture, and scrape the bottom of the pan to incorporate any flavorful crispy bits into the sauce.
Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes and this salisbury steak easy recipe is ready to serve! Today we’re serving it up with mashed potatoes with sour cream, they’re extra creamy and easy to make while you’re making the salisbury steak recipe. I’ll put that recipe in the description for you.
