Hi everyone, today I am going to make a tomato chicken curry without using tomatoes..
First, heat some oil in a cast-iron wok and add a few curry leaves to it.. next, add a finely chopped onion and sauté until the onions change colour to golden brown.
Once the onion has changed colour, add 2 tablespoons of ginger garlic paste and sauté until it’s raw smell is gone..
Next, add half a tablespoon of turmeric powder and sauté until it’s raw smell is gone and then add a heaped tablespoon of coriander powder and sauté until its raw smell is gone as well.
Next, add 2 tablespoons of Kashmiri red chilli powder or add any type of red chilli powder of your choice according to your taste preference and sauté until it’s raw smell has gone as well, on a very low flame..
Next, add chicken into the masala and mix everything well..
next, add a quarter tablespoon of cumin seeds and some salt to taste and mix well and close it with a lid and keep it on a very low flame to cook.
Do not add any excess water to the curry, the chicken will release its moisture when it heats up.
At this stage, add the juice of half a lemon and mix.
Once the chicken is completely cooked, keep the flame low, remove the lid and sauté until the gravy dries up..
When you reach the final stage, at a tablespoon of butter and mix well with the chicken. Adding butter is totally optional, but it will give a very soft and rich texture to the curry.
And finally, add 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup and mix everything well and keep sorting until the ketchup has dried and lost its rawness..
With this, our tomato less chicken curry is ready to be served..!!
