Kerala Chicken Thoran – for those who love the boneless chicken dishes… added with flavours of coconut and Bird’s eye chilli or kanthari muluku. Thoran is a traditional Kerala dish, made using different vegetables and this recipe is its non vegetarian variation. Kerala Chicken Thoran goes well with rice and other curries, but for sandwich lovers, this is an ideal filling. Make it as a roll for the children and they would crave for more and so can be made as part of their school tiffin as well.

Ingredients
Boneless chicken – 800 gms (or a full chicken)
Water -3/4 cup
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Fennel powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Coconut oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
Scraped fresh coconut – 1 cup
Onion – 2 nos (finely chopped)
Bird’s eye chilli (Kanthari) – 30 nos (Or as per taste)
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Dried red chilli – few
Curry leaves – handful
Salt – as needed
