Santa Clarita Diet is a hilarious show on Netflix! It’s also the focus of this latest TV Inspired Food! You know I had to pick something as bloody good as the show, right?! I created a Blood Orange Smoothie. This blood orange smoothie recipe is so Santa Clarita Diet and Drew Barrymore’s character! You’ve got your fit aspect of all of those runners and fitness focused Californians and of course, the “Blood”! Blood Oranges are red and fleshy. They are not as sweet as your typical oranges and are available at certain times of the year, like now. So go and binge Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix and whip up a Santa Clarita Diet Blood Orange Smoothie! Here is the smoothie recipe:
2 cups of freshly squeezed blood orange juice (from about 11 blood oranges)
1.5 cups fresh strawberries, halved
1 bartlett pear, peeled and cored
1/4 cup Greek Yogurt, plain
2 teaspoons of agave
1 cup
Optional: handful of kale or spinach, 1 cup of raspberries or other fruit like blueberries
Throw it all in a blender or Vitamix, and make it a smoothie! As you can see, I used my Vitamix in the video. I used the setting of 7, and left a bit of texture in it since it is so fruit forward.
