In this video, I share a healthy smoothie recipe that I have been drinking since I was eight-years-old! This healthy green smoothie is delicious, refreshing, hydrating, and super duper healthy and filling.
I drink it for breakfast, as a snack, or when I am feeling sick or in need of some detoxification. Since this smoothie has plenty of fiber, fat, protein, and greens, it’s really filling and nutrient-dense.
I bought most of the ingredients at the local farmers’ market because I enjoy putting my money towards local farmers and local food systems. That way, I know all of the produce is in season, local, and organic! Anything I couldn’t get at the farmers’ market I bought organic at the grocery store.
Ingredients
1 handful spinach (or kale)
1/4 English cucumber
1/2 avocado
1 lime (peeled)
1 bunch fresh mint leaves
1/4 tsp raw stevia (optional)
1 scoop of a protein of your choice (optional) – I used Bulletproof’s vanilla collagen protein!
1 cup ice
Unsweetened vanilla flax milk or coconut water (enough to blend)
MEAL PREP TIP:
Place ingredients in plastic bags and put in the freezer. Then you can just drop it into the blender and add liquid. For this option, no ice is necessary.
