Ingredients

5 oz beet – scrubbed, chopped
2 mandarins – peeled
1 lemon – juiced
1/2 inch ginger
1 tsp pomegranate powder
1 cup water, 1 cup ice

Known for their antioxidant prowess, pomegranates have been shown to lower inflammation, as well as possibly lower blood pressure. Ginger is another antioxidant superfood, with gingerol (the bioactive compound that gives ginger its flavor) doing everything from lowering inflammation to helping to balance blood sugar. Thanks to the amino acid betaine, beets are also fantastic for lowering inflammation, as well as possibly increasing stamina. Mix in Mandarins and lemon for a pure burst of vitamin C, and you have a nervous and immune-system boosting powerhouse.
