Cassava Cake is a classic Filipino dessert that you can enjoy all year round. It is usually prepared for birthday celebrations, fiestas, and Holiday Seasons – Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Here are the Ingredients for this Cassava Cake Recipe:

2 packs grated cassava
2 cups coconut milk
1 cup evaporated milk
3 large whole eggs
1 cup condensed milk
¼ cup melted butter
¼ cup white sugar
½ cup macapuno strings
3/4 cup grated cheese – for topping

For the Custard Filling, you will also need:

4 egg yolks
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk

Here are the Procedures on How To Make Cassava Cake:

1. In a bowl, combine the grated cassava, melted butter, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and white sugar. Mix well.
2. Add the eggs then whisk well.
3. Add the coconut milk then continue mixing using the whisk.
4. Add the macapuno strings. Mix well.
5. Grease the 9-inch pan with melted butter.
6. Pour the cassava mixture to the baking pan.
7. Bake the cassava cake inside the preheated oven at 350°F for 1 hour.

While waiting for the cassava cake to be cooked, prepare the custard topping.

8. In a bowl, combine the egg yolks, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Mix well then set aside.
9. Once the cassava cake is done, remove from the oven and allow to cool off then pour the custard topping.
10. Set oven to broil then return cassava cake inside the oven.
11. Broil cassava cake for 3 minutes then remove from oven.
12. Garnish with grated Cheddar cheese on top then cool completely.

Cut into serving size slices before serving for merienda, snack, or dessert.
