Badami Phirni is a delicious Hyderabadi style milk and rice-based creamy dessert that has thick creamy texture and is enjoyed on special and festive occasions. Phirini or Fereni (in Persia) is a rice pudding or kheer having its origin in India and Persia. It is made up of Rice flour and broken wheat, milk, sugar and flavoured with cardamom and garnished with cashew, pista, raisins and saffron. It is served chilled as a dessert. It is very delicious and known by various names in different regions like payesh, payasa, Gil-e-Firdaus and phirni. Some add heavy cream, ghee or khoya to make it creamy and rich.
Here in this recipe of Badami phirni I have used ground Almond paste to the rice mixture and made it more delicious and tasty. Do try this and you will love the taste and flavour.
