This is a delicious chicken kurma goes well especially with chappathi, naan and other breads.

The ingredients and method is mentioned below.

CHICKEN KURMA

INGREDIENTS :
 • Chicken – 1kg
 • Onion – 1cup
 • Shallots – 1cup
 • Green chilli – 4 ( slit )
 • Tomatoes – 1cup
 • Ginger garlic – 2tbsp
 • Cumin seeds – 1tsp
 • Fennel seeds – 1/2tsp
 • Bay leaves – 4
 • Cloves – 4
 • Cinnamon – 2”pc
 • Curry leaf
 • Chilli powder – 2tsp
 • Tumeric – 1tsp
 • Coriander powder – 4tsp
 • Coriander leaf
 • Water – 2 1/2 or 3 cup
• Oil

TO GRIND :
 • Coconut – 2cups
 • Cashew – 10 nos
 • Poppy seed – 1tsp
 • Aniseed – 1/2tsp
 • Water – 1cup

TO MARINATE :
 • Marinate chicken with turmeric & salt for 10 to 15 minutes.

METHOD :
 • Step 1 – Heat oil & ghee and then splutter cumin and funnel seeds , bay leaf , cloves , cinnamon.

 • Step 2 – Saute onion and green chilli to golden brown.

 • Step 3 – Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes until raw smell goes.

 • Step 4 – Add chicken pieces along with turmeric and salt , mix nicely cover and let it cook under medium flame for five mins.

 • Step 5 – After five minutes add the ingredients chopped tomatoes , chilli powder, coriander powder and 2 1/2 or 3 cups water, mix well and let cook for under medium flame for 15 – 20 minutes (do not disturb) until chicken is cooked.

 • Step 6 – Finally add coconut paste, let it simmer for few minutes. Sprinkle curry leaf, coriander leaf , and switch off.
