Ingredients of Chicken Tikka Masala:
For chicken marination-
– 500 gm chicken(boneless)
– 1/2 cup curd
– 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tsp red chilli powder
– 1/2 tsp cumin powder
– 1/2 tsp coriander powder
– 1/2 tsp garam masala
– 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
– 1 tsp roasted fenugreek leaves
– 1 tbs ginger-garlic paste
– 1 tbs oil
For gravy-
– 2 tbs oil
– 1 bay leaf
– 2 medium size onion (finely chopped)
– tomato-ginger-garlic paste (1 medium size tomato, 1 inch ginger, 5 cloves of garlic)
– 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tsp red chilli powder
– 1/2 tsp coriander powder
– 1/2 tsp cumin powder
– salt
– 1/2 tsp garam masala
– 1 tsp roasted fenugreek leaves
– 2 tbs fresh cream
– coriander leaves
Method of Chicken Tikka Masala:
To prepare chicken tikka-
– Marinate the chicken with curd, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, fenugreek leaves, ginger-garlic paste & oil. Mix everything well & marinate for 1 hour (*keep it in refrigerator).
– Heat 3 tbs oil in a frying pan. Fry the chicken till golden brown on low flame. Cover & cook till the chickens are done (*Keep flipping after sometime).
– Chicken Tikka is ready.
To prepare the masala-
– Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf & fry for few seconds.
– Add onion & fry for 2-3 mins on medium flame.
– Add tomato-ginger-garlic paste, remaining marination masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder & salt. Cover & cook the masalas on medium flame till oil separates.
– Add garam masala, roasted fenugreek leaves & fresh cream. Mix well & cook for 2 mins.
– Add 1/2 cup water & cook for 2 mins.
– Add prepared chicken tikkas & some coriander leaves. Mix everything.
– Your Chicken Tikka Masala is ready to serve.
