It also happens to be our favorite household dish, and my husband and daughter go crazy every time I make it. Enjoy it with some crispy garlic naan or tandoori roti!!

Yris – Les oies sauvages
Ingredients for marinade:
• 500g chicken
• 4 tbsp yogurt (curd)
• 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
• 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp cumin (jeera) powder
Ingredients for gravy:
• 1 tbsp oil
• 2 tbsp butter
• 6 green cardamom pods
• 4 cloves
• ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
• ½ cup finely chopped onions
• 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
• 2 cups tomato puree
• 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp cumin (jeera) powder
• 1 cup cream (heavy whipping cream)
• 2 tbsp honey
• ½ tsp sugar
• 1 tbsp kasoori methi (fenugreek leaves)
• Salt to taste
• Fresh Cilantro (Coriander) for garnish
Directions:
• For marinade- mix all ingredients together and set aside for 25-30 mins
• For gravy-Take a mortar and pestle- add cardamom seeds (without shells), cloves, and cinnamon. Grind well and set aside this spice mix.
• Take a pan, add oil and butter. Mix well. Add spice mix and stir well.
• Add finely chopped onions and sauté them until light golden brown.
• Add in ginger garlic paste and mix well.
• Now add tomato puree and sauté until oil releases.
• Add in kashmiri chilli powder, coriander and cumin (jeera) powder. Mix well.
• Add heavy whipping cream and mix well until you form a creamy, velvety gravy.
• Now add in honey, sugar and salt to taste.
• If the gravy is too thick for your taste, you can add in a little water. Mix well until oil releases.
• Take kasoori methi in your palms, crush and blend with your hands and add in the gravy mixture. Mix well for a minute. Set aside gravy.
• For cooking chicken, take another pan, add in oil and marinated chicken mixture. Shallow fry until chicken is well cooked from both sides and golden brown.
• Add in the gray and mix it for another 1-2 mins.
• Garnish with cilantro (chopped coriander) and some cream.
• Enjoy your velvety, creamy, smooth restaurant style Butter Chicken with some Garlic Naan or rice.
