Dhaba style chicken at home! A Dhaba outing is always incomplete without tasting it’s oh-so-delicious & flavoursome chicken dishes. And while the days of carefree road trips & Dhaba stopovers are difficult to impossible these days, here’s an easy recipe of the Dhaba style chicken to help you celebrate the food of a Dhaba sitting at home!

INGREDIENTS

1 kg chicken

2 tbsp curd

Salt to taste

2 tsp red chilli powder

½ tsp turmeric

2 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp garam masala

1 tbsp chicken masala powder

2 tbsp ghee

2 slit green chillies

2 chopped onions

3 chopped tomatoes

Chopped coriander

METHOD

1) To marinate the chicken, take a bowl, add 1 kg of chicken, add salt to taste, 2 tbsp curd, 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder and mix well. Set aside for an hour

2) In a kadhai, add 2 tbsp of ghee. Add 2 slit green chillies, 1 chopped onion and sauté

3) Once the onions turn golden brown, add 3 chopped tomatoes and mix. Add salt to taste, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tbsp chicken masala and mix well

4) Cover and cook this for 2 minutes.

5) Open the lid after 2 minutes and mix well. If the masala has dried up, you can add water as required and cook. Add chopped coriander leaves

6) Add the marinated chicken to the masala and cook until the chicken is well cooked.

7) Garnish it with freshly chopped coriander and add 1.2 tsp of garam masala. Mix well

8) Serve hot along with rice/rotis
