Afghani Chicken Gravy | Instant & Delicious recipe by Ashus Delicacies

Ingredients:
Chicken – 750 grams

For Green Paste:
Onion – 1 medium sized
Garlic Cloves – 6
Ginger – 1.5 inches
Coriander Leaves – 1 cup
Cashew Nuts – 10 to 12
Water – 1/4 cup

For marination:
Prepared Green Paste
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Fresh Cream – 1/4 cup
Cumin Seeds Powder – 1 tsp
Chat Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1.5 tsp

For Frying:
Cooking Oil – 1/4 cup

For Gravy:
Cooking Oil – Same oil used for frying chicken (strained)
Green Cardamom – 3
Cloves – 4
Water – 3/4 cup

The first step is to prepare the green paste with the ingredients as given above

The next step is to prepare the marinade for that you add yogurt, fresh cream and the green paste with the masalas mentioned in the ingredients.

The third step is to marinate the chicken in the mixture for minimum 30 minutes.

After marination, remove the chicken pieces from the mixture and fry it on medium to high flame untill the chicken acquires a vibrant golden color.

Strain the oil used for frying the chicken in a pan and add green cardamom and cloves. fry the whole spices for 30 seconds and then add the remaining marinade. Cook the marinade for 3 – 4 minutes and then add the fried chicken and water as per the consistency of gravy required.

Cook the chicken with the lid closed untill the chicken softens.

Garnish Afghani Chicken Gravy with chopped coriander leaves.
