Ever since I knew about this powder, I have been using it as substitute for other gelatin that is loaded with calories. It is called agar agar since it is made from red algae. It has a lot of health benefits as it doesn’t have sugar, carbs, calories, and fats unlike other gelatin. Moreover, it has tons of fibers.
Agar-agar fruit salad is a perfect dessert for Christmas season. Since Noche Buena dishes such as pasta, barbecue, roasted pig or lechon, hamonado, and leche flan have too much calories and carbs, this fruit salad can be a substitute to desserts that are way too sweet.
For people who want lesser sweetness in their fruit salads, you can decrease the quantities of all-purpose cream and condensed milk.
