I make scones in an AIR FRYER ?
Ingredients:
175g self-raising flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
2 tsp sugar
70g cold butter
100ml milk
Eggwash
Extra flour for dusting
Method:
Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Grate the cold butter and add to the dry mix.
Gently rub into the flour without melting the butter.
It should look like breadcrumbs.
Add the milk and bring together with a spoon, then your hands.
Flour your surface and transfer the dough.
With floured hands, pat the dough out to 2cm thick.
Flour a cutter and cut out 2 scones, then bring the dough together again and flatten for another 2 scones. (You may have to repeat this step for the final 2 scones)
Brush with eggwash.
Place in the Air Fryer pretty close together – this will help them rise.
Air fry at 175°C for 10 minutes.
Serve warm, break in half and add jam and cream.
If you don’t have an Air Fryer you can just bake these in an oven at 200°C for 10-12 mins.
