Healthy, Super tasty and low in calories salad. Packed with the goodness of apples and walnuts is perfect as a snack or as a meal by itself.

A Waldorf salad is a fruit and nut salad made of fresh apples and walnuts, dressed in mayonnaise/ yogurt, and served on a bed of lettuce as an appetizer or a light meal.
It’s light, refreshing and effortless salad yet very healthy and tasty salad.

The fruits contained in the Waldorf Salad can be prepared ahead of time and mixed with the mayonnaise/ yogurt/dahi/curd. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to a day in advance of serving.

Traditionally Waldorf salad contains mayo or heavy cream. That equals heavy on the calories. This version is better for you due to the Greek Yogurt substitutions and you’ll never miss the Mayonnaise.
Serve your family with this salad that’s made with apples and walnuts – a tasty side dish that’s ready in just 10 minutes.

A simple, budget, salad that can add a healthy dose of vegetables to your midweek meal.
You may also want to add a little honey to balance the tartness of the yogurt.

Ingredients
1. 1 red apple Crisp, Red Delicious, unpeeled and chopped into bite-sized pieces
2. 1/2 cup walnuts halves
3. 3 tablespoons mayonnaise or thick curd/ yogurt
4. large lettuce leaves
5. 1 tblspn honey
6. Pepper (pinch)
7. Salt for seasoning
8. Lemon ( optional)

1. Method:
Whisk the yogurt or mayonnaise, honey, and lemon juice (optional) in a large bowl and season generously with pepper & salt
2. In a pan, roast walnut halves over a slow flame for 2 to 3 mins and then cool them down
3. Halve, core, and cut the apples into thin slices, leaving the skin intact. Add the apples, walnuts, and sprinkle with the lemon juice; then toss with the dressing. Cover and refrigerate if not serving immediately.
4. when ready to serve, toss more walnuts into the salad. Arrange the lettuce leaves on a large platter, or divide them among 2 salad plates. Place the salad on the lettuce and serve.
