Today, I’m sharing the recipe for stewed beef liver, with boiled bananas. Beef liver with boiled bananas used to be one of my fave things to eat growing up in Jamaica ?? Sunday breakfast used to be pretty lit when I had this! ? The good thing about this meal is that it’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner ???? Don’t knock it until you try it!! ♡INGREDIENTS♡
2 lbs beef liver
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp all purpose seasoning
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
pinch of black pepper
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 scotch bonnet pepper, a small piece chopped finely (more for added spice)
A few sprigs of fresh thyme
2 stalks scallion, chopped
5-7 pimento seeds
4 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
2 tbsp browning
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp ketchup
1 cup water (room temperature or warm)
green cooking bananas
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp oil
1/2 lime juice, squeezed
*NOTE*
Peel away grey membranes from the liver, wash with vinegar (or lime juice) and pat dry before seasoning it.
