DO YOU REMEMBER that good old southern cooking? When I was growing up, my granny was my favorite cook. My mama was an amazing cook as well, but there was just something about being in granny’s kitchen.
NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Broccoli Salad
4 CUPS FRESH BROCCOLI FLORETS
1/4 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP PECANS (CHOPPED)
1/2 CUP RED ONION (CHOPPED FINE)
3/4 CUP MAYONNAISE
2 TBSP. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
1/2 CUP GOLDEN RAISINS (SOAK IN ORANGE JUICE)
Drain the orange juice (off raisins)- put into a small bowl and set aside. In a large bowl combine toss the above ingredients plus ¼ cup of the orange juice until well blended. Place in your serving bowl or container to chill.
6-8 SLICES OF BACON (COOKED TILL CRISP)
Crumble and add bacon pieces on top before serving.
