Broccoli Salad Recipe by Paula Deen – Blast from the Past


Summer is here and a salad as a main or a side can be a great way to beat the heat.

Ingredients
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup halved cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons white vinegar
8 oz cut into very small chunks sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup optional raisins
1/2 cup chopped red onion
6 to 8 slices cooked crumbled bacon
1 head broccoli

Preperation
1. Trim off large leaves of broccoli. Remove tough stalks at end and wash broccoli thoroughly. Cut flowerets and stems into bite-size pieces. Place in a large bowl.

2. Add crumbled bacon, onion, raisins, and cheese. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients, stirring well.

3.Add to broccoli mixture and toss gently.
