Butter Chicken is the most tastiest, yet the easiest chicken curry liked by Indians and non Indians alike.
BUTTER CHICKEN:
Serves: 4
INGREDIENTS:
Chicken (boneless, small pieces) -500gm
Ginger-Garlic paste-3tssp
Red Chilli Powder-3tssp
Garam Masala Powder-1/2 tssp
Curd-1/2cup
Fresh cream-1/2cup
Tomato purée- 3 tomatoes pureed
Kasuri Methi/Dry fenugreek-2tssp
Water-1/2cup
Butter-3tbsp
Oil-3tbsp
Cinnamon-2 inch
Green Cardamom-3
Cloves-3
PROCEDURE:
1. Make a purée of 3 tomatoes and keep a aside.
2. In a deep kadai, take oil and butter in equal proportions. Add the whole garam masalas.
3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
4. Now add the chicken and cook on high flame till chicken changes colour and turns light brown or pale.
5. Add the tomato purée, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well and cover and cook on low for 20 minutes.
6. Remove the lid and give a stir and add curd to the chicken. Cook for another 15 minutes on low flame.
7. Now remove the lid and dry all the liquid on high flame till oil leaves the masala.
8. Now add kasuri methi and give a mix. Finally add water and fresh cream. Bring to a boil.
Butter chicken is ready.
9. Serve with naan/paratha/roti.
Garnish with cream or dry fenugreek.
