Butter chicken recipe | How to cook restaurant style butter chicken | Murg Makhani | Delicious butter chicken | बटर चिकन रेसिपी | Butter chicken recipe without tandoor

Ingredients for butter chicken recipe:
For the chicken marination
Chicken 250 gms
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Lemon juice 2 tsps
Gingetgarlic paste 1 tsp

Butter 2 tbsps to fry
One charcoal piece for infusing smoke to the chicken for the barbeque flavor.

For the butter chicken gravy:
Oil 1 tbsp
Onions roughly cut- 2 medium size
Gingergarlic paste 2 tsps
Tomatoes – roughly cut – 4
Cashew nuts – 50 gms
Cinnamon – 1 small piece
Green cardamoms-3
Cloves -4
Black cardamom-1 big
Mace -1
Long pepper – 1
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Salt – 2 tsps
Sugar – 1 tsp
cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Water – 2 cups
Butter – 2 tbsps
Cream 2 tbsps
Kasuri methi – 2 tsps

Preparation of butter chicken:
Marinate the chicken with turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, lemon juice and gingergarlic paste and keep aside for one hour.
Heat 2 tbsps oil in the kadai/pan, add all the ingredients like roughly cut onions, gingergarlic paste, tomatoes, cashew nuts, cinnamon, green cardamoms, cloves, black cardamom, mace, long pepper, coriander powder, salt, sugar, pepper powder, red chilli powder, and water. Mix well and let them boil for 10-15 minutes till tomatoes are a little bit soft. You can mix it in between also. Then, off the flame and keep aside to cool and after that grind all the mixture till smooth.

Process for butter chicken recipe:
Heat 2 tbsps butter in the kadai/pan, fry and cook the marinated chicken pieces for 10 minutes. After this, put all the chicken pieces into the hot charcoal bowl to get barbeque/tandoori flavor. Add 1 tbsp ghee on the hot charcoal. Then close the lid for sometime.

For preparing the butter chicken curry:
Heat the same kadai, add ground gravy, butter, and cream, mix well and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes. Now add kasuri methi and next add fried chicken pieces and cook another 10 minutes.
Lastly, take the chicken curry into the bowl, garnish with kasuri methi and cream. Restaurant style butter chicken is ready to be served hot with naan or basmati rice…
