Hello everyone !
Today’s recipe is Chicken Chaap. It is a Kolkata restaurant style chicken recipe and a perfect companion with biryani.
Here is what you’ll need!
Ingredients
Chicken Legs with thighs – 2 pcs(500gms)
Salt – 1/2tsp
Lemon – 1/4pc
*Add salt and lemon to the chicken and mix well and keep aside to marinate for 30 mins.
Oil – 3tbsp
Onion(sliced) – 3pcs
Butter – 1tbsp
Bay leaves – 2pc
Cinnamon – 1inch
Green cardamon – 4pc
Onion(paste) – 1pc
Ginger Garlic paste – 1tsp
Kashmiri red chili powder – 1tbsp
Curd – 2tbsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Poppy seed paste (posto) – 1tbsp
Almond paste – 1tbsp
Cashew paste – 1tbsp
Sugar – 1tsp
Rasins(Kishmish) – 1tbsp
Water – 1.5 cup
Cream – 1tbsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2tsp
Clarified butter(ghee) – 1/2 tsp
Kewra water – 2drops
* Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till they are golden brown and keep aside.
*Add the marinated chicken in the same pan and fry well from all sides, then keep them aside.
*Add butter and once it melts add bay leaves, cinnamon, green cardamon and fry.
*Add the onion paste and fry then add ginger garlic paste and fry well.
*Add kashmiri red chili powder and fry.
*Then add curd and mix well.
*Add salt then poppy seed paste, almond paste, cashew nut paste and fry till the mixture leaves oil.
*Add sugar and mix.
*Add the fried chicken then rasins and add the fried onions(keep some for garnishing) and mix well.
*Add water and cover the lid and cook for 15mins until the chicken turns tender.
*Add the cream and garam masala powder and mix well.
*Add ghee and kewra water and close the lid to cook for another 5 mins.
*The mouth watering Chicken chaap is ready to served with biryani.
