Ingredients:
Chicken – 700g
Onion – 2 medium (thinly sliced)
Green chilly – 6 (Slit open)
Ginger – 1 big piece (Crushed)
Garlic – 7 big cloves (Crushed)
Tomato – 1 big
Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp
Coriander powder – 1½ tbsp
Red chilly powder – 1½ tbsp
Garam masala – ½ tbsp
Pepper powder – ¼ tbsp
Curry leaves
Salt
Coconut Oil
Steps:
Heat oil in a pan. Add thinly sliced onion, green chilly, crushed garlic and ginger and curry leaves.
Once the onion starts to turn golden, reduce the flame and add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilly powder.
When the raw smell of masala is gone, add tomato and some water and salt.
Cover and cook tomatoes till they are done, on low flame.
Add chicken and 1.5 cup water.
Increase the flame. Cook covered and bring the curry to boil.
Once it boils, add garam masala and pepper powder.
Cook covered on medium flame till the chicken is cooked.
Our thani nadan chicken curry is ready.
Serve hot with rice.
Note:
– I used baby tomatoes in the video as I did not have normal tomatoes.
– Use sour tomatoes for this recipe.
