Recipe :
Chicken Masala
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
800g Chicken (curry cut)
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp Oil
2 Black Cardamoms
1 Mace
½ Nutmeg
4-5 Cloves
2 large Onions, chopped
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander power
1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tsp green chilies
Chopped coriander
Method:
Marinate the chicken with the lemon juice, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp red chili powder and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the black cardamom, mace, nutmeg and cloves to meium hot oil and allow to sizzle.
Add in the chopped onions and saute over medium heat till the onions turn golden brown.
Add the powdered spices, mix well and saute for about 30 seconds and add in the marinated chicken.
Saute the chicken on high flame for about 3-4 minutes.
Add in the ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add in the tomato puree and mix well. Add in the beaten yoghurt and mix well.
Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes till the chicken is cooked well and oil floats on the top.
Add in chopped coriander. Remove from fire and serve.
