Dates Balls are my all-time favorite sugar free dessert. It is loaded with pistachios and almonds giving it the crunch in every bite.
Why do you want to let go the besan flour in your kitchen when you can make super yummy besan protein balls from it.
But yes the sauting part is too tiring but as the proverb says “No pain No gain” After around 20 minutes of sauting the flour without getting it burnt in ghee/ oil a nice aroma fills your kitchen and everybody comes into the kitchen asking “Mumma wads in the pan” Yes that the joy of cooking.
Ingredients required for the dates ball:
Dates: 250 gm
Pistachios: 50 gm
Almonds: 50gm
Sesame Seeds: 20gm
Butter: 1 tsp.
Preparation:
1. Coarsely blend the dates without water in a blender.
2. Powder the almonds and pistachios. Do not add sesame onto the blender.
3. The mixture will be dry and will start to break so add in a tsp of butter.
4. Knead it into a dough and make small balls out of it.
Store in room temperature or refrigerate it for longer period.
It can be made over the weekend and your kids can munch on with a glass of milk before bedtime.
Besan Protein Balls:
It is a rich combination of besan flour with ghee sauted in low flame for 20 minutes. The sign of aroma arises when the flour is fully cooked.
To be more filling for my little one I have added rava. It may or may not be added depending on your preference.
Ingredients:
Besan Flour: 250gm
Brown Sugar: 125gm
Rava: 50gm
Water: 3/4cup
Ghee: 2 tbsp.
Oil: 3 tbsp.
Preparation:
1. Add in oil and besan flour on to the pan. Saute until the flour changes colour.
2. Add in 2 tbsp ghee
3. Add in rava and brown sugar
4. Add in water so that the flour is completely cooked.
5. Once the flour is cooked it starts to get off the pan.
6. Let it cool down and roll it into balls.
It can be stored in a airtight container and can be refrigerated for longer period.
Its super healthy and instant snack when hunger pangs strike.
