Hey everybody, Chef Martin here and today I am gonna give you some tips on how to make your desserts healthy and low fat. There will be no change in flavor or texture of the dish, and over time, you will appreciate the healthier taste and the blessing of knowing that you are doing your family a favor with healthier choices. So let s start:

Cut the Sweetener
Start by cutting 1/3 of what the recipe calls for and step it up to 1/2 if you are feeling adventurous! You ll most likely be surprised by how good your desserts still taste! And try to use a healthier sweetener like Stevia extract which is super sweet, palm and coconut sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey or maple syrup which are all better choices than white sugar.

Use More Whole Grain Flours
Just making a move in the direction of more whole grains is a great step to take. Try substituting 1/3 1/2 of the flours in your recipes with whole grain alternatives. Eventually you can make the move to more and more whole grains.

Use Natural Fats
Always stay away from margarine and processed fats and try to use fats in their natural state. Good choices would be coconut oil, butter, olive oil or palm shortening which is palm oil with its unsaturated fats removed.

Use Egg Whites
Finally, to reduce more calories substitute 2 egg whites for each egg in your recipe but do not remove all the yolks from the recipe as they help make baked goods tender.

I hope this gives you inspiration to give your dessert recipes a healthier make over and decrease the fat content by as much as 60%. For more tastier, low fat and healthy dessert recipes just click the link in the description below and never think twice about eating your favorite dessert again!
