Filipino Food Recipes – Beef Nilaga (Slow Cooked) | Cooking with the BBoys – Ep. 4


The BBoys have a Filipino Food Recipes just for you! Beef Nilaga, or Nilaga Baka, or in laymen’s terms, “boiled beef”, is just that… One of the simplest beef soups you can cook! Consider it a “kitchen-sink” dish, if you will. Aside from the beef, you can pretty much throw in any vegetable of your choosing.

Relax, have a drink and soak in the BBoys’ take on this traditional Filipino dish with a twist: No pre-made store-bought seasoning soup packets + slow-cooked in a crock pot!

RECIPE BREAKDOWN

3lbs beef short ribs
2 onions, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
Bunch radish, sliced
3 jumbo carrots, sliced
2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 sayotes, peeled and chopped
1 stalk of celery, diced
3 whole peppers of your choosing
1/4 head of cabbage
Beef bouillon
Salt & pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Put beef into crock pot and add water to level of meat + 1 cup
2. Add the beef bouillon, salt & pepper
3. Turn on crock pot/slow-cooker to High and allow to do its magic for 3 hours
4. At 3 hour mark, turn cooker to Low and add the the rest of the ingredients
5. Add a little more water
6. Allow to slow-cook to its glorious finish for another 3 hours
7. Serve with @its_rambo’s rice and your choice of whiskey!
