Handi Chicken is one of the popular recipes in India which is mild spicy and delicious creamy recipe. Traditionally, this recipe is cooked in a clay pot but if you don’t have a clay pot, then you can use a steel handi or a regular kadai or a pan. This recipe is very easy to make. It can be served with lunch or dinner as side dish along with main dish like Fried Rice, Jeera Rice or Polao. Try this easy recipe and enjoy with your family and friends.

Ingredients: –
Chicken 500 grams (boneless)
Ghee 2 tbsp
Garlic 12 cloves (chopped)
Tomato 1 medium (chopped)
Onion 1 big (sliced)
Ginger 1 inch (grated)
Green chili 4 (slitted)
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Coriander seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder ½ tsp
Curd ½ cup
Kasuri methi ½ tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Water 1 cup
Preparation:-
Step 1
At first, slice onion finely. Chop garlic and tomato. Slit green chilies and grate ginger.
Step 2
Now heat ghee in a kadai. Then add chopped garlic and tomato pieces. Fry for 2 min on low flame. Then add sliced onion, salt and fry until onion turns golden. Now add grated ginger and green chilies. Fry for 2 min. Then add cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fry for 2 min again. Now add turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well. Then add little water and mix well. Now add boneless chicken pieces and mix well with the masala. Cover the kadai with a lid and cook for 10 min on low flame. Then add curd and mix well. Now cook for 2 min on low flame. Now add a cup of water and cover the kadai with a lid. Cook for 10 min on low flame. Then add kasuri methi, garam masala powder and mix well. Cover the kadai with a lid and cook for 2 min again on low flame.
Now Handi Chicken is ready and serve hot with any main dish of your choice. Enjoy!
