Korean Beef Bowls are probably one of the easiest mince dishes you could make. They’re rich, tasty and they take less than 15 minutes to cook, which makes them a favourite for a mid-week meal.
When we were doing our research for this recipe we tried several Korean Beef Bowl recipes on other sites and food blogs. They weren’t great. They were so dry. They had no sauce, just flavoured mince served with rice. Boring.
Perhaps that’s the traditional way of doing things but it wasn’t for us. Our recipe has a tasty, thick sauce that coats the mince, adds flavour and when served with rice, this dish is delicious. The great thing is you could also freestyle and add more veg to this. You could fry some mushrooms or peppers with the garlic and ginger to get more greens in, the choice is yours.
Here’s How To Make Korean Beef
1. Heat the coconut oil in a large pan on a medium heat, add the garlic and ginger and fry for around 1 minute.
2. Add the mince to the pan and brown.
3. Add the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, chilli flakes, water and cornflour to a bowl a mix through.
4. Pour the sauce over the mince, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Stir through the grated carrot and spring onions then serve.
