Kung Pao Chicken, also transcribed Gong Bao or Kung Pow chicken, is a classic Chinese food that is full of flavor and is great appetizer for any occasion. It is the perfect combination of savory, sweet and spicy with the tenderness of delicious chicken.
Chinese people may be unfamiliar to many of the American-Chinese dishes , including the kung pao chicken. It’s not the name of the dish that’s foreign –it is derived from gong bao ji ding, a famous dish from Sichuan province.
The Americanized version is quite different from that served in Sichuan, which is drier and includes a special type of peppercorn used extensively in the province.
