Instant Pot Ace Blender Unboxing(4K) & Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Instant Pot came out with a blender recently. Given that we are fans of the Instant Pot, we were curious to try it out. Here is my take on it:

INTIAL IMPRESSIONS:
************************

Pros:
1. Price :$99. The Instant Pot Blender is priced very competitively. It’s at a great price point. Considering that it can handle hot and cold foods, in terms of functionality its in the same league as brands like the Vitamix, which start around the $400 mark. Even if the Instant Pot Blender is being compared to brands like Ninja, the Instant Pot is at a fantastic price point.

2.Versatile. It apparently can handle smoothies and soups and everything in between. The blades are sharp and the initial impression is that it doens’t have any problem dealing with ice or any other hard materials that can be a challenge for blades. It took a minute and half to make a smoothie and the smoothie was silky and had no chunks.

3.The glass pitcher feels high end. It feels like something professional chefs would use to make whimsical soups.Overall the glass and the shiny base are stylish and attractive to look at. The front panel looks cute and familiar thanks to its predecessors.

Cons:

1.The glass pitcher is heavy.Feels like almost 5 lbs. This can be a problem for some people who don’t have much arm strength. Once its loaded with food it gets heavier. Considering arm strength changes from person to person, the weight can be a challenge for some people. The blender comes with a self clean/pulse functionality that cleans the inside of the pitcher but I imagine that everyone has to clean the outside of the jar as well and thus it has to be washed by hand at some point.

2.The blender is tall. When the blender is stacked, it’s like a model version of the Sears Tower in Chicago.
When I was making a smoothie, the blades would come to a stop, and then start again resulting in a jerk motion that would nudge the blender to its right a quarter inch. You can notice this in the video. Perhaps I should have placed it on a “stickier” surface? However, I assume most people place their blenders on the kitchen countertop, so that is its standard operating position. I got the feeling that if the base was wider, there would be lesser jerking motion, but I could be wrong. Perhaps it needs stickier legs, that have greater suction? I have to use the blender more often to get a better idea.

Having said all that I would recommend not placing the blender at the edge of any counters where it could potentially jerk , lose its footing and fall to the ground.

3.Exclusive to Walmart.
It’s only available at Walmart for some reason. Walmart does free shipping and Walmarts are very accessible but I know people who refuse to give Walmart their business on principle. Being exclusive to one store means consumers cant shop around for lower prices.
For example, Instant Pots are sold everywhere,so sometimes Kohl’s has great deals, sometimes Target has great deals and sometimes Amazon has great deals. No matter where they buy them from, consumers come out feeling they got a good deal and are more likely to keep their purchases.

These are just my initial impressions. The first experiment was a success. I will continue to experiment with and share my findings!
