Chicken Biryani is a popular Indian rice dish which will be made during special occasions like festivals and marriages.This biryani is made with freshly ground garam masala, ghee,oil,fat from the chicken and cooked with the aromatic basmathi rice that makes this biryani so special and delicious. I am sure this is everyone’s favorite rice dish of all.Same recipe can be followed to make biriyani with seeraga samba rice which is popularly made in Tamil Nadu. ln this video, we will see how to make chicken biryani recipe in Instant Pot.
Instant Pot Biryani:
Ingredients:
Chicken – 1 pound
Rice – 2 cups
Oil – 5 tbsp
Ghee -2+1 tbsp
Onion – 1 large thinly sliced
Tomato – 1 large chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 Tbsp
Green Chilly – 5
Mint – 1/2 cup chopped
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Biryani masala – 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 tsp
Fresh Garam masala- 1/2 tsp(cardamom-3,Cinnamon – 2 inch,Cloves -3)
For tempering-cardamom-2,Cinnamon – 1 stick,Cloves -4,Bay leaves- 2
salt to taste
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
Water – 3 cups(1:1-1/2 ratio)
Turn on Saute mode normal, when the pot is hot, add oil and ghee. Fry the onions&green chilly until it turns golden brown and then add ginger garlic paste, fry till raw smell goes. Add tomatoes,mint and all the masala powders and fry. Close the pot with glass lid for 2 mins till the tomatoes turn mushy. next add yogurt and chicken fry for few mins then add required water and rice. close the lid and turn the valve to sealing position.Set rice mode 12 mins or manual 12 mins low pressure. open after 5 mins NPR then QR.
Gently fluff the rice and allow the steam to release so that it will prevent rice clumping.
Tips to Prevent Burning: Add enough oil,water and always use Low Pressure setting.
Serve biryani with egg curry,chicken curry,raita,brinjal curry and more.
