Juice Fast Smoothie Recipe for Vitamix Blender


Numerous people have requested my juice fast recipe so here I’m showing what I do. There’s no hard rules – substitution is okay: chard instead of kale etc., and I eyeball the amounts. If you do this every day you’ll figure out what works for you. My wife, fearful of not getting enough protein, adds natural plain or vanilla yoghurt. Add a slice of ginger root for kick, or beet for an awesome purple color. Add some eggplant for blood pressure reduction. Adding crushed ice in the summer heat goes over very well too.

Ingredients in this video:

2 1/2 cups of filtered water
3 leaves of kale
1 huge leaf of swiss chard
1 handful of spinach
1 handful of broccoli
1 banana
2 medium carrots
2 stalks of celery
1 cored apple (skin on)
1 cup frozen mixed fruit (strawberries, cantaloup, honeydew in any combination)
About 10 raw almonds or a tablespoon of raw sunflower seeds
3 pitted dates for sweetness

Blend slowly then quickly up to maximum for about 3 minutes until everything is liquified.

If you don’t have frozen fruit handy, then use a peeled orange or fresh strawberries instead.
