Today, I’m going to show you how to make Butadon! I previously introduced Gyudon, but due to numerous requests for a rice bowl dish using pork, I’m responding to those requests with this recipe for Butadon! The main ingredients are just pork and rice, making it a very simple dish that can be prepared in just 10 minutes, yet it’s incredibly delicious. This is a wonderful Japanese dish, so be sure to give it a try!
◎Butadon Ingredients:
・200g thinly sliced pork belly (choose pork with a lot of fat)
・5g seaweed ( Nori )
・2 cloves garlic
・2 tablespoons sake
・2 tablespoons soy sauce
・2 tablespoons mirin
・1 teaspoon sugar
・Rice (for serving)
※When you don’t have mirin, please refer to this video.

※If you use raw eggs as a topping, please read this.
In Japan, eggs are generally safe to eat raw, but this is not the case in other countries, including the United States. However, pasteurized eggs can be safely eaten raw, so be sure to purchase eggs that have been pasteurized. It is not absolutely necessary, so please consume at your own risk.
※When you don’t have cooking sake
If you don’t have cooking sake, you can substitute it with dry white wine or Japanese sake that has an alcohol content of around 15%.
