To Make Mango Burfi
Mango – 2 Nos
Ghee – 1 Tbsp
Coconut – 1 Cup (freshly grated)
Boiled Milk – 1 Cup ( 250 Ml )
Unsweetened Khoya – 1 Cup ( 100 Gms )
Sugar – 3/4 Cup
Cardamom Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Milk Powder – 3/4 Cup
Ghee – 2 Tsp
Silver Leaf ( Optional )
Method:
1. Peel the skin off the mangoes and chop them into small pieces.
2. Add them to a mixer jar and grind into a fine puree. Keep ti aside.
3. Take ghee in a pan and add the grated coconut. Roast it for 2-3 mins.
4. Add the boiled full fat milk along with the grated khoya.
5. Keep the flame on a medium and continue to cook for about 2 mins.
6. Then add sugar and mix well.
7. After the sugar dissolves completely, add the cardamom powder and mix well.
8. To this mixture, add 1 cup mango puree and start mixing.
9. After 2-3 mins, add the milk powder and mix well.
10. Cook for 10 mins on a medium high flame to make sure there is no moisture left in the mixture.
11. After the mixture is nice and thick, add ghee and mix again.
12. Turn off the stove once the mango mixture becomes a thick mass.
13. Grease a tin with ghee all over inside and transfer the mango mixture.
14. Spread it out evenly and put the chopped nuts of your choice on the top. Gently press them inside.
15. Let it set for 2-3 hours.
16. After the Mango Burfi is set, cut it into desired shape and serve it immediately!
17. You can also store this sweet for 1-2 days by refrigeration.
