:::INGREDIENTS:::
Beef Meatballs ( about 12 pieces )
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tinned chopped tomato
1 cup double cream
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup spinach
200 ml beef broth or water
SPICES MIXTURE-
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
2 tsp paprika
METHOD-
1.) Meat Browning – Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat and cook the meatballs about 8-10 minutes. Turning once, until they’ve reached a nice brown colour. Do not overdo it because we will going to cook them again with the sauce.
2.) When they are ready, transfer them into a bowl and set aside.
3.) Using the pan from browning the meat, sauté the onion with the remaining oil for about 2-3 minutes or until translucent then add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
4.) Add the spices mixture to the pan and sauté about 2 minutes. (you can also make masala paste, which normally use for the traditional recipe, just replace the ground ginger with fresh grated ginger and add crushed garlic).
5.) Stir the tomato sauce into the onion and spice mixture.
6.) Then add the beef broth. Stir and bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer sauce for 10 minutes.
7.) Then mix the cream. Bring sauce back to a simmer, stirring often until sauce is thickened for about 10-15 minutes.
8.) You can now add the meatballs to the sauce then simmer for 5 minutes.
9.) Add the spinach and mix it to the sauce very well. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
9.) Serve with rice.
