Ingredients:
1 cup moong dal
Water
1 pinch saffron
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 cup ghee
1 tbsp sooji/semolina
1 tbsp besan/gram flour
1 tbsp cashew
1 tbsp pistachio
1 tbsp almonds

Method:
Soak the moong dal in water for 4-6 hours.
Grind it into a coarse paste.
Soak a pinch of saffron in water.
To make the sugar syrup, heat sugar and water in a large pan until it comes to a boil.
Add cardamom powder and the saffron water, and mix well.
Set the syrup aside.
Heat the ghee in a separate pan.
Add sooji, besan and the moong dal paste to it.
Saute the mix until the moong dal releases oil.
Now add the sugar syrup and mix quickly.
Top the halwa with cashews, pistachios and almonds, and cook until done.
