For all these smoothies, you can include ice and opt for frozen fruits which gives the smoothie a creamier texture. Additionally, a good blender would make a whole lot of difference in the texture, I use the Ninja blender which is fantastic (LINK BELOW)?.
The first two are great for detox and cleansing the system (try not to leave the house after taking these), while the last two are indulgent, yummy smoothies you can enjoy instead of having perhaps a milkshake (I wouldn’t advise you have these everyday). I initially decided to incorporate smoothies into my diet while I was trying to lose weight and now I can’t get enough because the benefits are numerous. Smoothies can serve as healthy options for breakfast. It is yummy and quite filling depending on the content.
For my smoothies, I limit the number of fruits to two, and I also endeavor to incorporate various groups of food alongside fruits, which may include, vegetables (spinach, kale), healthy fats (avocado), seeds (chai seed, flaxseed), roots (ginger) so as to have a balance meal. PINEAPPLE LEMON SMOOTHIE (DETOX)
• 1 CUP OF PINEAPPLE
• 1 KNOB OF GINGER • A SQUINT OF ½ LEMON
• I CUP OF FROZEN BANANA
• 1 CUP OF ALMOND MILK
CHOCOLATEY SMOOTHIE (HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO CHOCOLATE DRINK, MILO ETC)
• 1 BANANA (YOU CAN USE 2 FOR A CREAMIER TEXTURE)
• 2 PIECES OF DATES
• 1 CUP OF COCONUT MILK
• 1 TABLESPOON OF CACAO POWDER
• 1 SCOOP OF WHEY PROTEIN POWDER
STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
• 1 CUP OF FROZEN BANANA
• 1 CUP OF STRAWBERRY
• 1 CUP OF ALMOND MILK
• 1/2 CUP OF GREEK YOGURT (OPTIONAL)
• 1 TABLESPOON OF CHAI SEED
• I SCOOP OF WHEY PROTEIN POWDER (OPTIONAL)
GREEN/DETOX SMOOTHIE
• 2 CUPS OF SPINACH or KALE or PUMPKIN LEAVES (ANY LEAFY GREEN SHOULD WORK)
• 3 STALKS OF CELERY
• 1 CUP OF ALMOND MILK or COCONUT MILK or WATER
• 1 KNOB OF GINGER • A SQUINT OF LEMON
• ¼ AVOCADO
• 1 CUP OF FROZEN BANANA
