Nilagang Baka Easy Recipe | Beef Stew Filipino Version


Nilagang baka or in english term beef soup/beef stew is very easy to cook yet very yummy and deliciuos. Nilagang baka is a simple pinoy beef soup that you can truly enjoy all year round from rainy season to the heat of summer. Most of us have tried and enjoying the beef soup magic of the exeptional soup recipe. An easy soup recipe is a perfect dish to make when you are just beginning to learn cooking. Nilaga means “pinakuluan” or “boiled” refers to a type of Filipino meat and vegetable soup where chunks of meats are cooked in seasoned broth, quarter onions, peppercorns, fish sauce to add the flavor and locally growned vegetables such as potato, corn, cabbage, green beans, pechay or cabbage to fits your taste and turn into a instant-pot meal.

Although the beef is a main dish in itself and can enjoy on its own, traditionally served with cooked rice on the side along with an appitizern “patis” squeezed with calamsi on the other side. It is also customary to offer an extra helping of the hot broth in a separate mangkok to slurp while taking your deliciuos meal.

Ingredients

500 grams Beef loin, desirable cuts
2 medium red onion, quarter cut
1 tablespoon pepper corn whole. Cracked
2 medium sized potato
1 tablespoon patis (fish sauce)
1 stalk pechay
Salt, honey and ground pepper to taste

How to cook Beef Nilaga:

In the cooking pot place the beef loin, onion, ginger, pepper corn, and enough water to cover up the meat. Cover the pot and cook over a low to medium heat for 3 hours or until the meat becomes tender. Add the potato and simmer enough to make tender, followed by patis, salt and ground pepper, honey and green leaf.

Serve while very hot and perfect with fish sauce squeezed with calamsi and chilli.
