Panda Express Orange Chicken Recipe ??
Ingredients:
– Chicken Thigh
– Orange
– Chilli flakes
– Garlic
– Ginger
– Egg
– Salt & pepper
– Soy sauce
– Cornstarch
– Sesame oil
– Flour
– Green onion
Instructions:
Prep Chicken: pat dry, cut into 1 inch pieces, season 1TSP Salt & Pepper
Chicken: Take each piece of chicken and dip in egg wash (whisked egg), then coat in the dry mix (½ c flour & ½ C cornstarch), make sure to season both the egg wash and dry mix with Salt & pepper
Frying oil: pour needed amount of oil to almost submerge the chicken (different for everyone due to pot or pan sizes), heat oil (approx 5-10 mins high heat) then check it is hot enough by dipping the tip of a chopstick in and if bubbles form around it that means it’s ready
Frying the chicken: Place chicken in oil and cook 2-4 minutes each side till golden brown, take out the chicken and place on a dish with paper towels to drain excess oil
Sauce: Saute 1TBS garlic and ginger, ½ TSP chilli flakes, the whites of two green onions, after about a minute on medium high heat add ¼ C rice vinegar, ¼ C soy sauce, zest of an orange, ¼ C green onion, x1 juice of an orange, ⅓ C brown sugar, drizzle of sesame oil mix then once incorporated add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken it up
Orange chicken: add the fried chicken to the sauce and mix till all chicken covered in sauce
