This Asian-style Teriyaki Chicken recipe with a delicious sticky sauce makes a brilliant, healthy, quick, midweek meal or great for a speedy weeknight supper. No marination required, just stir fry and serve with hot rice and some boiled vegetables.
Prep:5 mins || Cook:12 mins || Serves 3
Ingredients
1 tsp sesame oil
1.5 tbs olive oil/ vegetable oil
500g boneless chicken
1.5 tbs corn flour/ corn starch
pepper 1/4 tsp
salt
2 large garlic cloves, crushed/ grated
1 tbsp sesame seeds , to serve
4 spring onions, shredded, to serve
Sauce:
3 tbs light soy sauce
1 tbs brown sugar
2 tsp honey
1.5 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbs water
1/4 tsp chilli flakes (optional)
Preparation:
Add salt and pepper to the diced boneless chicken and coat with corn flour.
In a small bowl add all the sauce ingredients and combine.
Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Add the chicken and fry for 7 mins, or until golden. Add the garlic to the pan fry for 1 mins.
Add the prepared sauce. Bring to boil and cook for 2-3 minutes or until everything is well coated and thickened.
Scatter over the chopped spring onions and sesame seeds, then serve the chicken with the hot rice and steamed veg.
