If you think you cannot recreate the restaurant like lip-smacking taste at home, you are utterly wrong! Today I bring to you another authentic Indian chicken delicacy – chicken handi!
This chicken handi is a rich, creamy and flavorful chicken curry recipe which you won’t be able to forget if you taste it even once.
Chicken Handi is a delicious dish made with chicken cooked in a low flame for a long time. Handi is a Hindi word for an earthen pot and the traditional recipe is still made in an earthen pot and is slow-cooked in tandoor. That is also one of the main reasons we shy away from cooking this at home.
In earlier days, the food was cooked on wood fire using the earthen pots and it is said that cooking in earthen pot enhances foods’ flavors. Unfortunately, I do not own that typical earthen cooking pot as yet which is why I had to do a make-shift arrangement with my heavy-bottomed stock pot.
Thinking about all the effort that goes into it and the equipment like a tandoor or an earthen cooking pot is not something we have easily available now. So, we have this recipe for you that will not only cause much less mess than you think and will not compromise on the restaurant-style taste at all! This dish is best suited for Parota, chapati, rotti, naan and even rice. So, What are you waiting for now? Gather your ingredients and cook this dish with the help of this video.
