Rugalach Pastry Recipe (Christmas Dessert)


Preheat ovan 375*

Dough (refrigerate over night):
1 cup – Butter
8 oz – Cream Cheese (full brick)
1/4 cup – Sour Cream
2 cup – Flour
1/4 tsp – Salt
2 tbsp – Sugar

Have Butter and Cream Cheese at room temp. for easy mixing.
Mix wet ingredients (Butter, Cream Cheese, Sour Cream).
Add in dry ingredients (Four, Salt, Sugar) to your wet mixture!
Carefully mix, only until ingredients have combined. –Do not over mix!
Divide into 4 balls, plastic wrap, refrigerate.

Filling:
Raisins (h2o if needed)
Cinnamon
Pecans

This part is for preference but roughly 1/2 cup of raisins is good for 1/4 of the dough.
Med. heat raisins over stove top until soft.
Add generous amount of Cinnamon.
Pureé/blend. Set aside.

Roast chopped up pecans in ovan for 4-5 Mins.

Roll out dough into a small pizza sized circle.
Spread Raisin filling.
Top off with roasted pecans. Press down to make sure everything stays into place.
Cut into 1/8ths. Roll up.

Bake at 375* for 18-25 mins. Do not burn.

**CHOCOLATE**
drizzle/dip melted chocolate onto the cooled rugalach, be generous
