This chicken lollipop recipe shows how to make the lollipops from scratch starting with chicken drumlets and wings. It is very simple to make and tastes better than restaurant.
Ingredients:
For Frying:
Chicken Wing Joint – 3
Chicken Drumlet – 3
Maida (Plain Flour) – 1/2 Cup
Cornflour – 1/4 Cup
Pepper Powder 1/4th Tsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder 1 Tbsp (For colour and taste)
Garlic Chopped or Paste 1/4 Tsp
Ginger Chopped or Paste 1/4 Tsp
Water 3/4th Cup
Salt 1/2 Tsp or to taste
For the Sauce:
1/2 Medium Onion Chopped
1 Tsp Garlic
1 Tbsp Spring Onions
1 Tbsp Red Chilli Sauce
2 Tbsp Tomato Sauce
1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
Sugar 1/2 Tsp
Salt 1/2 Tsp
Method:
– To make lollipops, make cuts at the bottom side of chicken drumlets on all sides and push the meat up to form a lollipop
– For the wing joint get rid of the wing side. Make slits at the bottom and pull out the side bone. Push the meat up to form a lollipop
– Add all ingredients for frying and dip the lollipops one by one and deep fry on medium heat until all sides are crispy
– For the sauce fry the onions and garlic until onions are translucent.
– Add all the sauces, sugar and salt and spring onions. Saute for 1 min
– Next switch off the heat and leave sauce aside to cool for 2-3 min. This is to ensure the lollipops do not become soggy due to the vapours.
– Now add the lollipops and mix
