Eid Mubarak!! Today I am sharing 2 traditional and classic Indian sweets that are enjoyed on Eid day! These are Special Indian Eid Desserts Recipes from my moms cookbook!
Sheer Khurma for 6 people
1. Melt 2-3 tbs of butter
2. Add handful of virmicilli
3. Cook for 5 mins until golden brown on low-medium heat
4. Add 1 cup of sugar (more/less to taste)
5. Mix well and let it cook for 2-3 mins on low-medium heat
6. Add 4 cups of milk (quantity depends on serving size)
7. Continuiously stir for 15 min while. milk boils
8. Add cardomom pods, saffron and dates and stir in
9. Let it simmer for 10 mins then its ready to serve!
10. Garnish with crushed nuts
Kheer Recipe for 6 people
1. Soak 1 cup of rice for 1 hour in water
2. Drain water and add 1 cup of milk and bring to a boil
3. Once rice is soft and cooked, remove from heat and blend
4. Blend enough until there is a paste like consistency
5. Bring back to stove on medium heat add 1 cup half/half and 1/2 cup heavy cream
6. Let it simmer for 15 mins while you slowly add 1 cup of sugar
7. After 15 mins its ready!
8. Garnish with nuts
9. Serve cold
